Cookie statement
This site runs without advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Here is exactly what happens in your browser.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It can be used to remember a choice, to keep a session open, or to follow you across sites. This site does none of the last two.
What this site uses
Our own pages set no cookies at all. We do not use Google Analytics, a Meta pixel, heat maps, A/B testing tools or advertising networks. Nothing is written to local storage or session storage by our code.
Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may place a security cookie when it screens traffic for bots and attacks:
- __cf_bm — distinguishes human visitors from automated traffic. Strictly necessary, expires after 30 minutes.
- cf_clearance — only set after a browser challenge has been passed. Strictly necessary, expires after 30 minutes.
- _cfuvid — groups requests from one connection for rate limiting. Strictly necessary, session length.
These cookies contain no name, email address or case information. They exist so the site stays online and cannot be used to build a profile of you.
Fonts loaded from Google
The typeface on this site is loaded from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser contacts fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which means Google sees your IP address and browser version. No cookie is set for this, but it is a transfer of technical data to a party in the United States. More in our privacy statement.
Why there is no cookie banner
Dutch telecom law requires permission for cookies that are not strictly necessary. The security cookies above are strictly necessary to deliver the site safely, and we place nothing else. A banner asking for permission would therefore be misleading, so we do not show one.
Managing cookies yourself
You can view, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the security cookies may cause Cloudflare to refuse a request, in which case the site will not load. Instructions for the common browsers:
Changes
If we ever add a tool that needs a cookie, this page changes first and a consent banner appears before that tool loads. The date at the top of the page shows the last revision.
